Why Melbourne?

Now, in our 10th year of operation, we’ve been reflecting on why we choose to stay in Melbourne rather than expand to many other places, and how we serve as stewards for the community who are additive, not just extractive, to the place in which we live and work.

The best of this city does not advertise. It is down a laneway, behind an unmarked door, or standing behind the counter. Here is where we send our mates, which means you, now.

DRINK — Whiskey Den (ask Joseph what he is pouring), Little Lon Distilling Co (Lynden’s gin shed in a heritage cottage), Aster (an open hearth for rainy days).

EAT — The Epicurean at Queen Victoria Market (say hi to Fiona), Dame (Remy makes the city’s friendliest coffee), and the late-night dumplings our food tour guests never forget.

SHOP — Beekeeper Parade (Koky’s upcycled bags, each one of a kind), and the makers of the Nicholas Building and Campbell Arcade.

WHAT’S ON — Melbourne always has something: the Comedy Festival in autumn, Australian Open ground passes in summer, the F1, the Cup, NGV blockbusters, and footy season’s electric Saturdays. Ask us what is on when you are here and we will point you right.

GETTING AROUND — The CBD’s Free Tram Zone makes the city easy. We will teach you how locals use it on any of our experiences.
