The Comedian

Beau Stegmann

They say Aussies know how to spin a yarn, but Beau has made a career of it.

When not performing at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Beau gives tours around his city.

Go on his tour, then check out his comedy on his Facebook page.

“Turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip, our tour guide Beau was fantastic and made the whole thing that much better,.” – rlt1980701

Melbourne Digital Tour Hugo
The Trivia-Loving Local

Hugo Mylecharane

Hugo was born and raised in Melbourne and despite years living and working in the UK and USA- Melbourne’s charm has always pulled him back home.
Hugo is a trivia lover and writes and hosts trivia in his spare time. He is also a Beer lover and has his own craft beer label.
Hugo has been working as a tour guide for over six years in Melbourne for walking and private day tours – he prefers the walking tours! He loves revealing Melbourne’s many hidden secrets to locals and visitors alike, but don’t get him started on sports or jokes – you’ll be there a while!
Tour guide Hugo was super friendly and knowledgable. It was raining and cold, but Hugo was a gentleman offering his umbrella to people and taking us mostly undercover during the walking sections. — Michelle Belanji
The river cruise-turned walking tour guide

Caitlyn O'Dowd

One of our most experienced guides, Caitlyn’s life began in Melbourne and was detoured to The Netherlands after meeting her Dutch husband. While learning to speak Dutch (a requirement for citizenship) Caitlyn worked as a cruise director with Viking River Cruises. Prior to that, Caitlyn worked with Busabout giving tours around Europe.

Caitlyn recently returned home to Melbourne to start a new family. It’s no easy feat to be on one’s feet while pregnant, but after guiding throughout the 2019/20 season, Caitlyn welcomed her daughter into the world. Caitlyn will be raising her daughter as a Collingwood supporter, her lifelong football team. Ask her about “The Pies” — but don’t be surprised by her comprehensive knowledge of the history of the team.

Caitlyn did a perfect job! The right amount of information in the right speed and always extremely friendly, knowledgeable and funny. — Jas W.

The Escape Room Extrodinare

Kevin Turner

Before he was a tour guide, Kevin worked as a consultant in the escape room industry — he helped (and continues to help) small business owners build amazing customer experiences in escape rooms.

So it’s no surprise that Kevin is such a natural tour guide. Born in Ireland, Kevin moved to Melbourne as a child  and with his theatre school training has very nearly adopted as Aussie accent. Nearly.

“Our guide was Kevin and his enthusiasm for Melbourne is infectious!” — Linda P.

The Laneway-Loving Local Actor

Marc Opitz

Raised in Adelaide, Marc moved to Melbourne to pursue his passion for acting. He spends his weeks going to auditions, filming commercials, working as a crossing guard for a local school, and of course leading walking tours around the city.

Putting his individual and theatrical spin on each and every tour, “WalkingMarc” is sure to leave you with the same love of his city that he has.

Marc was just great! Fun storyteller and incredibly knowledgeable about history & politics, he will also have a never-ending list of the most interesting pubs and places for an out-of-ordinary drink in the city. — Adni91

John Giving Tour
The Expat Company Founder

John O'Sullivan

John is the founder of Depot Adventures, who took a gap year away from his home state of Minnesota and never returned. He spent years working in tour guiding, branding, and operations for a plethora of international travel companies through Europe, the US, and Australia.

After marrying an Aussie, he wanted to bring the ‘Free Walking Tour’ concept he learned in Europe to Australia – that’s how Depot Adventures was born. Read more about Our Story here.

We have taken such tours around the world and John The American certainly gave us the best of them all. — diavoie333

The Outdoorsman

Will Crighton

Will was never meant to be a city walking tour guide. He’s been a bushman, leading adventure tours underwater, in the outback and around the hiking trails of England.

When his partner moved to Melbourne, he reluctantly applied to be a city tour guide, and has since learned that he can love city life as well. Will is excellent at telling the history of Melbourne, but also the best places to go for hikes around the area.

Will, our tour guide was very good. He explained the historic of Melbourne city very details. His knowledge is absolutely impressive and resourceful — Ukartiono
